How to put 300 Songs On A Single CD-R

The following was written for those who have burned a regular audio CD before and to those who own basic computer skills:

Did you know it is possible to make an audio CD that has 300 tracks that plays in your car stereo, DVD player and and personal CD player?

It's actually pretty simple. Here is a brief "How To" that quickly explains what is required to accomplish this fun project.

Obtain a CD Burning Program

I use Nero Burning Rom when making my audio CD's. In addition to the massive audio CD making capabilities, this program will burn video, pictures and data. The interface easily guides you through the steps necessary for whatever CD burning task you want to perform.

Nero Burning Rom (free version)

You will also have to obtain the main ingredient which is the:

MP3PROPlug

Find your Music

Find your music that you want on your CD and save them into one folder on your PC. If your music is on a music CD, then wait until you download, install, and run Nero Buring Rom to add your music.

Run Nero Burning Rom

After Nero is running navigate to the "SETTINGS" tab and select "ENCODE FILES". If your music CD is in the drive, the tracks will appear on your screen and just click "SELECT ALL" and the "GO". All tracks on the music CD will be encoded (compressed/squashed) to nearly nothing while still maintaining quality.

Use the encoded tracks on your audio CD...

Like your average CD-player plays MP3-discs.

I have tried to play these CD's on 4 different DVD/CD players so far. These players were never meant to be "mp3 compatible". Three of them played perfect and the only one that didn't play was the most expensive one! Honestly.

Two of the players would also only play the first 150 songs. That's a small negative considering the fact that none of these players are over 99US dollars.

Yeah... if this is for mp3's, normal cd players from 4 or 5 years ago may not be able to play them....

      Yes very true.

This post is about how to put many songs on a CD.  Scrunching 300 songs on a single CD-R is easier than you think just remember that what you use to play that impressive compilation is totally your choice.

while driving is a nice little luxury.

Besides, not endangering the lives of fellow drivers as you fumble to change CD's every 15-20 songs is a good reason to step up to the times and get a new player.

I remember when I brought the first data CD with all my songs over all those years ago. Same goes with a DVD.You can burn a DVD in data mode with multiple folders and 100's of songs in each folder. DVD players can actually play all of the 1000's of songs on this data disc and with a remote you can go from artist to artist or folder to folder.

You figure a 700 MB CD-R hold anywhere from 150-300 songs(depending on the bit encryption) A DVD-R is 4,700 MB(approx) That is actually 6.71428571 times more space. I have a couple of these DVD-R Data discs at the house and they are great for parties. From the oldest known DVD player to new players with DIVX compatibility...you can look forward to hours and possibly days on continuous music playback with a data DVD which has all music stored on it.

      ***COMING SOON***

Blog about putting 6 DIVX files (RIPPED DVD MOVIES approx 700-900MB in size) or *.avi files onto a DVD-R as data and watching them from a DIVX compatible DVD player. DIVX went from an encoding technology to a major player in the watching of ripped DVD movies in your home theater.

Let me know what you think Austin.

That's an awesome idea for parties. That's what I think.  If you can accomplish putting 6 or so high quality DivX files on a single disk, then all the more power to you.  For now though I think I'll just stick to burning hundreds of mp3's onto CD's.

You're the one who initially showed me how this was done Wil, so credit goes to you.

Nero Burning Rom will also do a great job making picture CD's and it's really easy to use.
