Article copy punks: briefing
This entry was posted on October 22, 2006 and is filed under COPYPUNKS.
As I search for more creative desktop toys for windows XP users I sometimes find articles that I had submitted to online article submission sites in hopes that niche website's would find and then display those articles.
Many of these articles are eventually picked up by webmasters and posted on different websites all over the net. So many of these articles are posted correctly by the majority of webmasters. What I mean by correctly is that the author credits and LINKS that point back to the author are in place. Unfortunately, many of these free for reprint articles are posted on websites without the author links included. I call the individuals who practice this unthoughtful way of doing nothing, a copy punk.
Whenever I find an article that I created and it is on a site with the credits missing I am going to post the article and the URL inside the
A Creative Desktop Blog. I can understand an article that was not tagged properly making the link code unclickable or even the paragraph that contained the links that was forgotten accidentally but there are some things that are too far beyond the line to let go quietly.
Here is my first example. It's centered around an article I wrote awhile back over at writingup.com. The article was about
Las Vegas High Rise Condos and their starting price. This article is probably my most popular article for the webmaster leaving and or taking the credits and links out of the article before posting to their website.
Over at this website h ttp://l as-ve gas-real-estate-locator. com they have my article (w/out the links) as their home page! Yes...as their home page. It almost looks as if they created a website around my picture. Their is no Alexa information, no whois, and I don't see a "contact us" link on the website.
What do you think?
Has this happened/happening to you?
Any website suggestions?
