Knock, Knock...who's there? A review by nukemdomis
Right now I feel as if I can accurately predict the future. I predict that a certain blog will become the number one rated blog on Technorati based upon the number of other blogs that have links pointing in. Not just any blog, the blog of a dot com mogul...
John Chow.
Mr. Chow is already a proven online success story. Most webmasters sit up all night trying to figure out how to operate at the level he does. His designated hitter is the popular tech website called
techzone.com which racks up approximately 200,000 page views every day! Generating those type of numbers is simply amazing.
Here's what's going on right now. Over at johnchow.com John has announced his intent to become the number one rated blog on Technorati. Not an easy task to accomplish for anyone. He has created a very unique contest to power his blog up the Technorati ranks which at the start of the contest sits at the 1,529th position with Engadget.com sitting in the number one spot.
The contest is simply a "review my blog" type of promotion. First, review Mr. Chow's blog on your blog or website and he'll then link to your review. (if you're good enough your review might even trigger a comment from John instead of just the "[…] ") Other rules include the review length which must be at least 200 words long. You must also include a link to the johnchow.com home page and his post that
explains this contest. Any blog can post a review, no matter what the blog is about.
Now here's the most important paragraph in this review. You should know that everyone that posts a review will earn a quality linkback from johnchow.com. A linkback from a high-caliber website such as his can really be an effective tool for a blog with a low page rank or very little backlinks. More importantly is the added traffic that the review link will bring to your blog or website.
At the time of this writing John Chow has accumulated over 160 reviews that link back to his site which has vaulted him to 500th position over at Technorati. There is no way that he will fall short of his goal. Unless of course my blog makes it there first. Thanks for reading.
