There are two reasons why I'm writing this post about the super successful website that's better known as John Chow's blog. Those of you who don't know of Mr. Chow yet, you are my first reason for this blog post.
His blog has been generating $10,000 per month lately from around 184,000 monthly visitors (June 2007). The blog is about generating online revenue from a variety of sources like advertising and affiliate sales. I'm always trying to find creative websites for the visitors of this site to enjoy and John Chow's blog is a perfect example of creativity gone wild in a different way, a monetary way.
My second reason for writing this post is for my own entertainment. You see, recently I noticed that this blog now shows up on the first page of a Google search for the term "John Chow's blog". I can attribute that placement to the review I wrote for his link back contest. In addition to the review I wrote a number of follow up posts where I tried linking to all his new reviews. The rate at which he was receiving new reviews was huge and I couldn't keep up and eventually stopped posting links to the reviews at about 120.
It'll be interesting to see how much of a change if any, a few blog entries can have in the Google search results for that term. Either way John Chow's blog is worth talking about. You can just feel the excitement that's generated by the readers when you're on the site. Go check out his blog, everybody else is.
